Pride & Joy Parenting
Pride & Joy Parenting is a comprehensive support program designed for LGBTQIA+ parents and their children at the Bridgeport Pride Center.
We believe that every family deserves a strong foundation of support, understanding, and community connection.
Our program offers a nurturing environment where LGBTQIA+ parents can connect, share experiences, and access valuable resources. Whether you're a seasoned parent, just starting your journey, or considering parenthood, The Bridgeport Pride Center is here to support you every step of the way.
Support Group Meetings: Regular gatherings where parents can share experiences, challenges, and advice in a safe, affirming space.
Family-Friendly Events: Fun activities designed to bring LGBTQIA+ families together, fostering friendships and community bonds.
Educational Workshops: Informative sessions on topics ranging from explaining LGBTQIA+ identities to children, to navigating school systems and addressing discrimination.
Resources Library: A curated collection of books, articles, and media about LGBTQIA+ parenting and family life.
Mentorship Program: Connecting experienced LGBTQIA+ parents with those new to parenting or considering starting a family.
Legal Aid Clinics: Periodic sessions with legal professionals to discuss adoption, surrogacy, and other relevant legal matters.
Child-focused Activities: Age-appropriate events and groups for children to connect with peers from similar family structures.
